In essence, the design process had become too democratic for Toyota, so regionalizing engineers and decision makers to specific models and markets in smaller groups is something it believes will be beneficial going forward.

It might seem as though less voices in the development stages would hinder creative juices and leave many good ideas to go unnoticed, but there isn't much need for concern. After all, the revamped 2012 Toyota Camry and the latest edition of the Prius, specifically the Prius c variant underwent their development using the new structure, and each of those cars have been a success with drivers everywhere.
