Wagon Option Returning to Toyota Corolla in 2014

There's no denying that the Toyota Corolla is a popular vehicle not only at Tansky Toyota, serving drivers in the Dublin, Columbus and Newark areas, but across the nation, evidenced by sales numbers. Some of you ardent Corolla fans out there might remember a wagon edition of the popular vehicle, and for those of you who miss it dearly, we're happy to say a Corolla wagon will be making its way back to the new Toyota lineup in 2014.

Called the Toyota Corolla Tourer, the wagon will mark the return of the offering since Toyota discontinued the model in 2005. Recently, spy photographers from Top Speed spotted a test version of the Corolla Tourer driving through southern Europe in some heavy camouflage, which kept the finer design points to a minimum, but showed us enough of the exterior frame to see how different it will be from the Corolla sedan. While the front of the vehicle remains similar, the back of the new Toyota wagon extends upwards to give drivers plenty of room for passengers and storage.

Many of the features found on the sedan are expected to be on the Toyota Corolla Tourer as well, including competitive fuel economy via a 1.8-liter, 132 horsepower four-cylinder engine. Of course, none of that is official until Toyota reveals it, and it's expected to do so at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.

When we get official news on the specifications of the 2014 Toyota Corolla Tourer, we'll pass that information along to you on the Tansky Toyota blog. If you're looking for some alternatives to the wagon, we also offer many popular hatchback models like the Toyota Prius and the Toyota Matrix as well.
