Consumers Can Camp in New Toyota Prius

Ever thought about sleeping in your car? How about on top of your car? Well, with the new Toyota Prius add-on you can do both. Revealed to the public at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon, the Prius Camper variant sleeps up to four adults and takes camping to a whole new level...your roof.
While the new Prius hatchback might not be the most attractive looking camper around, it sure makes on-the-road slumbering easy as pie. Visually akin to a massive humpback, the vehicle's camping appendage is constructed by Japanese conversion company Campinn. Made from fiber-reinforced plastic, it brings the vehicle's length to 196-inches and its height to 81.1-inches.
Whether you're traveling solo or riding with an outdoorsy pack, the unusual Prius variant has room for two adults up top and two more in the vehicle's converting trunk bed. Unlike more traditional camper vehicles, the Toyota offering doesn't contain a kitchenette or sitting area. But let's get real, how many RV-lovers can say their sleeping machine gets great gas mileage and saves the environment to boot? Not many, that's for sure.
For those who aren't the outdoor types and wouldn't need an added camper appendage, be sure to check out the Prius v or original Prius hatchback at Tansky Toyota, 6300 Sawmill Rd Dublin, OH 43017. Of course, we also have an abundance of other new Toyota models that are well-suited to meet your daily driving needs.
