The "FT-86 World Report" website provides a downloadable app that gives iPhone users the chance to upload pictures of the Toyota FT-86 spotted around the world. Now, we know what you are probably thinking. The rear-wheel drive coupe won't be released until the Tokyo Motor Show in December. That is completely true. However, word on the street is that Toyota is already test driving FT-86 concept models around public streets and a lucky few will actually be able to spot and snap it. Additionally, app users can take a picture of their surroundings with an image of the new model digitally imposed and upload them to the "World Report" website. The site then gives visitors a chance to view FT-86 "spottings" in their area and learn a bit more about the model.

Is it a fun game or a creative marketing strategy? Tansky Toyota thinks "FT-86 World Report" is both. And for the millions of Toyota fans anxiously waiting to finally see the new model, the game might not be just an amusing little "waste of time" after all. For them, it is a chance to engage with the brand they love.
